As a native Charlestonian, I am intimately familiar with the charm and heritage of coastal South Carolina. After graduating from The Citadel, I was commissioned in the US Army and served twenty-two years as an airborne ranger infantryman. My military service encompassed command of a rifle company in combat and an airborne infantry battalion of the 82d Airborne Division. My military education included the US Army Command and General Staff College, the Argentine Escuela Superior de Guerra, and the US National War College. I retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.
After retiring, my family and I returned to South Carolina where I attended graduate school at USC earning a Master of Business Administration degree. Seeking new challenges, I accepted a position with Waccamaw Corporation and became Executive Vice President of WCI Management Group. In this capacity and over a 14-year period, I was responsible for the development and management of two million square feet of shopping centers, office buildings, entertainment venues and distribution centers. The sale of the portfolio of income properties, offered an opportunity to return to Charleston after an absence of many years.
Settling in to our new life at home was easy. It also led me serving as a real estate development consultant for 2 years. As such I was able to lay the foundation for the Outlet shopping center at Centre Pointe in North Charleston. Completion of my contract allowed my move into third party brokerage and I joined Carolina One Real Estate as broker associate. This association is now approaching 10 years.
My devoted spouse of 50 years Edith and I reside on James Island in the Village of Secssionville. Our daughter Stephanie lives near by with our 2 grandchildren, Jack and Caroline. We have been truly blessed in so many ways. It is my hope and expectation that these blessings can be shared with my clients.
